Maintenance of a 1971 Cadac G series large format console

Musicality sometimes lies deeply embedded in inductor cores and capacitor magic.

It was a pleasure to help with solving electronic problems in a legendary Cadac G series mixing console. This beast (yes, a real heavy one: a single rail supply, solid state transistor design. No gyrators, inductors only! 👌) actually gave me goosebumps. Not only when listening to audio routed through those beautiful vintage circuits, but also to open up the hand crafted and well designed modules, repairing some electronic failures and giving them some tlc. Thumbs up for Sebastiaan Meijer who currently owns this desk and is giving it an extensive overhaul. Thank you for the hospitality, we’ll meet again!
